On Thursday June 22nd, Chef Jeremy and Chef Ric and I headed to the Smoke Ring on Nelson St. in Downtown Atlanta carrying 320 lbs. worth of equipment in ONE container. ONE container y'all it was crazy fitting everything we needed in there AND getting the lid closed. Unfortunately we did not win HOWEVER it was a huge win for the team and for Rae's Cuisine, an unbelievable amount of connections were made, and amazing exposure that we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. We had an absolute blast and had amazing support at the competition, with less than 9 points away from a win. We cooked our macaroni and cheese, fried cabbage, and 11 flank steaks on the grill in UNDER 2 hours. Our time was reduced by 30 minutes mid competition. We had an amazing strategy in the pantry run, where we split off what ingredients we would need to cook with. We missed it all by one item which was brown sugar. We brined and marinated our meet for a total of 48 hours. I'm looking forward to the next competition. We learned a lot about ourselves as planners, chefs, and competition enthusiasts. I am currently looking forward to the next event in Abbeville, LA at the Giant Omelette festival in November. Keep watching to see what we cook next!
